XName is an engine for providing modular Web-managed DNS hosting. It features a viewer for DNS server logs, a synthetic view of all of a user's zones, and much more. It supports both primary and secondary zones.
Information regarding Project Releases and Project Resources. Note that the information here is a quote from Freecode.com page, and the downloads themselves may not be hosted on OSDN.
This release features usage of template zones, IPv6 records
support, the ability to automatically fill in reverse zones
when also managed with xname software, the ability to
import already existing zones from a remote server, and
internationalization.
Support for multi-servers and an advanced interface to modify SOA and TTL parameters have been added. Dynamic-update is now allowed using XML-RPC, and a scheduler for Perl scripts can now be used instead of crontab. User groups and user logs were implemented. MD5 passwords are now used. Lot of other minor changes were also made.
XName is now usable with or without
register_globals in PHP 4.1.0 and upper. All the
configs variables for the Perl script have been
merged into a single file, and the paths to
binaries in the PHP and Perl scripts have been
made configurable. A "logout" bug has been
corrected, and a new PHP script was added for the
backend.
