專案描述

TinyDYN is a package of client and server software for operating
dynamic DNS services. It enables anyone to run dynamic DNS services
using strong authentication or to be a client of someone using TinyDYN
as a dynamic IP management system. The clients can communicate
directly by UDP with the server, by email, or by any other transport
the admin can imagine, as the mechanism is quite straightforward.

The program now runs cleanly using daemontools for logging, and service files are included in the distribution. Child process handling was improved by adding meaningful log output. A problem where the handling of numerous I/O errors was badly flawed such that they would most likely never be logged was also fixed.

TTL upload from the client is now supported, and a bug that caused the server to exit when certain packets were received was fixed. The DHCPCD client now automatically picks the TTL out of the DHCP data and sets it to half the renewal time. Logging output was improved, although it still requires an external log file manager such as multilog.

This release can be configured to allow each client to update only certain host names or collections of host names. Selective allow and disallow rules let you fine tune whether or not a request from a particular user is honored. This is done after the GPG authentication of the request and is based upon the identity of the signer, not in place of it. Help text output has been improved, and there is more documentation on usage.

In this version, the UDP mode is now fully functional, no longer relying upon netcat on the client side. Configuration has been moved entirely to the config file and out of hard-coded entries in the scripts. Support for the very popular dhcpcd was added as well as more documentation on how to install the client. Pump still remains supported as a client however further feature enhancements will stop. Dhcpcd is now the supported DHCP client of choice.
