A flexible AutoDJ, a built-in Web server including a Web service API, and system tray support were added. The build system was changed from automake to SCons. Automatic "intelligent" tag guessing was implemented. This release has new artwork as well as an overhauled UI. Over 100 smaller fixes and improvements were made.

The AutoDJ was completely redone, with great benefit. Broken tags and filenames are now treated much more gracefully. An autotagging feature was added. A passive popup announces song changes. Search was sped up considerably. A new SCons-based build system was implemented. Several bugs were fixed and many smaller improvements made.

An HTTP server was added, used by a
scripting/remote control interface and a Web
frontend that has streaming and search
capabilities. The HTTP server can run standalone.
A customizable "Auto DJ" command was added for
vastly improved generation of random playlists.
Player control is now possible from within the UI.
Many other fixes (Unicode cleanliness, exception
handling, UI) were integrated.

A few compilation issues have been fixed.

This release adds fuzzy search, plugins (for CD burning), a separate preferences dialog, and play history collection. Each song now has a "Performer" field as well as play statistics and can be rated on a scale of 0 to 5 stars. Easy mass tagging was implemented. A configurable number of backups will be kept of a database. The build process now uses autotools. Searches were made asynchronous for much faster response times. Startup time was dramatically reduced.
