Twibright Luminaplex and Hyperluma 2 are two
algorithms and an example implementation developed
to encode (chroma subsample) Y'CbCr video at 4:2:0
and 4:2:2 scheme with higher quality than was
currently possible. Ordinary encoding introduces
errors, while Luminaplex eliminates virtually all
error by finding the values of minimum error. It
is published as a prior art to prevent coverage by
a software patent.
