instantRSS takes an appropriately-"tagged" Web page and spits out an
RSS feed. The tags are simple and easy-to-use HTML
comments. instantRSS may be used locally or remotely, alleviating the
need for users to have PHP on their servers (or even having to know
PHP).

The RSS output was updated to RSS 2.0, and does
not use RDF. The output now validates with
archive.org and scripting.org's RSS validators.
The HTML entity handling was improved. By default,
PHP's htmlentities function is used to turn all
HTML entities into their numberic codes, and
afterward the resulting ampersands are changed
into &.
