dfu-programmer is a Linux based command-line
programmer for Atmel (8051 and AVR) chips with a
USB bootloader supporting ISP. This is a mostly
Device Firmware Update (DFU) 1.0 compliant
user-space application.

This release upgrades the support for the AVR
devices, adds support for OS X, and upgrades the
flashing algorithm. For AVR devices, in particular
the AT90USBKey device, the there have been several
issues resolved that should allow better overall
performance. Using the new flash algorithm, the
time needed to flash a device is reduced.
