A new /DIRCPROXY STATUS command to aid bug reports, new optional /DIRCPROXY USERS and KILL commands for administrators of proxies with large numbers of users, sending the Detach message to channels upon joining after reconnecting to a server, ability to write PID into a file on startup, logging support for topic changes, ability to disable nickname guarding, ceasing restting global variables to their defaults if the configuration file fails to load after a HUP signal, and a new crontab checking script and other_log_program to log private messages into seperate files.

An option has been added to the the SO_KEEPALIVE option on server connections, which works better for some people than stoned server checking. It also now always returns ERRORs from the server to the client, so you know why a server rejected you.

This version contains mostly minor bugfixes. Log files no longer lose their
restrictive permissions when limiting length. High and control characters at
end of lines are no longer stripped from log files. DCC capture should now
work, and malloc() failure during DCC proxying should be caught.

A fix for the occasional 100% CPU problem, and slight documentation updates.

The nickname code has been reworked to get rid of the occsional problems that occurred when invalid nicknames were set, and also includes a new ability to try to regain a nickname after it's been lost. The DCC code has been cleaned up a little again, clients are now notified if dircproxy times out the proxied connection, and both the incoming and outgoing connections on the proxy are bound to the same port to aid in firewalling. CTCP replies have been added for when the client is detached and the log filenames are lowercased.
